Inspirations

Below you will find ALL of my inspirations.

Pizza Tower & WOON (McPig)

Pizza Tower is a fast-paced indie platformer created by McPig (Tour De Pizza), inspired by the Wario Land series. It focuses on speed, combo-based gameplay, and exaggerated cartoon animation. You play as Peppino Spaghetti, a stressed pizza chef trying to destroy the Pizza Tower and save his business.

The game is known for its chaotic energy, expressive sprites, and rewarding movement system that encourages players to chain actions together without stopping.

Pizza Tower

WOON is a separate, upcoming game by McPig currently in development. Unlike Pizza Tower, WOON is a 2D beat 'em up with multiplayer elements, focusing on combat and fast-paced action. While still unfinished, early footage shows the same wild animation style and strange, creative enemies seen in McPig’s previous work.

Woon

Both projects share a strong identity built on expressive visuals, intense gameplay, and a unique, chaotic tone that has built a large online fanbase.

Crash Bandicoot

Crash Bandicoot is a classic platforming series originally developed by Naughty Dog and released on the PlayStation in the late 1990s. The games follow Crash, a genetically enhanced bandicoot, as he fights against the evil scientist Dr. Neo Cortex.

The original trilogy is known for its challenging level design, including forward-running, chase, and 3D corridor-style platforming. Unlike many platformers of its time, Crash Bandicoot emphasized timing and memorization over open exploration.

The series became one of Sony’s most recognizable franchises, later receiving remakes like the N. Sane Trilogy and new entries such as Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. Its mix of difficulty, humor, and iconic characters helped it remain relevant across generations.

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is an anime series created by Studio Gainax. It follows two fallen angels, Panty and Stocking, who must fight ghosts in Daten City to earn their way back into heaven.

The show is known for its bold, Western-cartoon-inspired art style, crude humor, and fast-paced, over-the-top action sequences. Each episode is often split into segments, parodying different genres and pop culture tropes.

Despite its comedic tone, the series gained a cult following due to its unique visual direction, edgy humor, and soundtrack. It stands out as one of the more experimental and stylistically distinct anime productions.
